These are some ads we like (and one we don’t — except for Lorraine, she likes it)

Comb-Over
Another one from Nancy’s archives. The bloke in this looks a bit like Austin Ogilvy but not as up himself. The ad is for cigars but you should never smoke because it makes you stink. Nancy is living proof.

Cadbury Gorilla
No idea how they came up with this, and it says nothing about the chocolate (but what is there to say?). How did they sell it to the client? Did they write a script? Dress someone from the office up in a gorilla suit and film it on a Flip first? This is hard to ignore.

Vim
This is pretty good because it is a bit like Katie and her mum a few years ago. It’s so serious it’s funny.

Snowplow
This is Auntie Nancy’s favourite ad ever. It’s nearly as old as she is. Nancy reckons it’s so good because there are no fancy tricks or techniques. She says you could show it today and it would still say all the right things about VW cars.

Flora by Gucci
This is a good example of what we think is a stupid ad. Lorraine likes it, though.

Think Different
We love Apple computers (and no one’s paying us to say that) and we love this ad, although sometimes Joel makes fun of it. It’s a good one to watch when you’re feeling something is a bit too out there.
